Ricardo J. Carrillo is President and Owner of Carrillo Funeral Homes. In his role, Mr. Carrillo is responsible for advancing the business organization and it mission which is to provide families with Quality, Respect and compassionate services when they need it most and to be the best funeral home in the community. Under his leadership, he has led the establishment of four successful funeral homes – Fort Worth in 1998, Dallas, in 2008, Grand Prairie in 2010 and Tyler in 2017. In 1998, Ricardo also successfully opened his own cremation center. As an accomplished funeral director, Mr. Carrillo is now among the youngest Hispanic funeral home owners in the country. He is known for his abilities to lead and establish standards of excellence in the funeral home industry and specifically for the Hispanic community.
Mr. Carrillo’s commitment has allowed Carrillo Funeral Homes to be well branded in the Dallas – Fort Worth community and has successfully served thousands of families over the course of 20 years now. Carrillo Funeral Home has become the Funeral Home service of excellence and choice that provides quality services that include burial, cremation and is the number one funeral home facilitating ship outs of loved ones to Mexico in the DFW Metroplex area.
Mr. Carrillo and Carrillo Funeral Homes have received various awards most notably as being the only funeral home in Texas and in the country to be awarded the three most prestige awards in the funeral home industry – Golden Rule, Preferred Funeral Directors International and Selected Funeral Directors – that recognize funeral homes across the United States for meeting strict and superior quality in service and ethical standards.
Mr. Carrillo is currently a member of various professional organizations including the Fort Worth Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Fort Worth Hispanic Women’s Network, La Camara de Empresarios Latinos – DFW, North Texas Funeral Directors Association, Preferred Funeral Directors, among others. He is well known in the community as a supporter of activities, charitable causes and many non-profit Hispanic community organizations.
Mr. Carrillo was born in Chihuahua, Mexico and grew up in Van Horn, Texas. He is a 1996 graduate of the Dallas Institute of Funeral Services. He enjoys life to the fullest with his loved ones and friends. In his leisure time, he enjoys traveling around the country and around the world.
Dr. Elizabeth Carrillo, DrPH, MPH, is a State of Texas Licensed Funeral Director at Carrillo Funeral Homes since 2018. Her background is in Healthcare management, leadership and operations. While taking a break from her healthcare career since summer of 2017, she joined Carrillo Funeral Homes to support and assist in the business and operational execution and management of her husband’s four successful locations in the DFW Metroplex – Dallas, Fort Worth, Grand Prairie and Tyler that aim to serve families with respect, quality and compassion when they most need it. In her role as funeral director, she supports the organization’s operations, training and recruitment of new staff members, implementation of new initiatives and processes, and conducts and plans service arrangement visits with families they serve.
In July of 2019 she transitioned to a part time role in Carrillo Funeral Homes to also assume an executive position at the TCU and UNTHSC School of Medicine in Fort Worth as Director of Corporate and Community Engagement.
Prior to her role in the Funeral home industry, she was the Chief Executive Officer of North Texas Area Community Health Centers, Inc., (NTACHC) the first and only federally qualified community health center in Tarrant County from 2013-2017. In this role, Dr. Carrillo was responsible for leading the organization and advancing the mission of providing access to quality healthcare for the uninsured and underinsured in Tarrant County. Under her leadership, she led executive and operational teams and advanced the access, clinical and patient health outcome advancement of three clinical community health centers that provided primary care and behavioral care. Prior to her role of CEO at NTACHC, she has held other executive positions with the UNTHSC School of Public Health and with Baylor Health care System.
In December 2016, Dr. Carrillo was recipient of the Minority Leaders Business Award by Fort Worth Business Press and in 2010, recipient of the “40 under 40” also by Fort Worth Business Press which honors individuals shaping the future of Tarrant County through business and community involvement.
Dr. Carrillo earned her degree as a Funeral Director in March 2018 from the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service. She obtained her MPH in 2002 and Doctorate in Public Health in 2005 in Health Management and Policy from the University of North Texas Health Science Center, School of Public Health.
Fidencia is a native of Mathis. She earned her degree in Social Work from Goshen College and a graduate from Dallas Institute of Funeral Service. Fidencia is a Certified Celebrant as well as a Licensed Pre-Need Agent and attends Calvery Church. She has four children and eight grandchildren. When she not assisting others in the industry, Fidencia enjoys spending time with her family and loves music.
Charles is a native of Fort Worth and has worked at Carrillo Funeral Homes for 15 years. He is a graduate of Dallas Institute of Funeral Service. Charles is married and has two children, Paula Woods and Christopher White.
Nirza Moncada joined Carrillo Funeral Homes in 2018 as Administrative Assistant. She is also a state licensed Pre-Need Counselor. She is well experienced in all aspects of customer service and funeral operations. Her commitment to the funeral home industry and service to families stems from her studies and training in theology and pastoral care.
Nirza is a native of Guadalupe, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. Her bilingual abilities and understanding of our Hispanic Culture and traditions allows her to help our families when they need us most. In her spare time, she enjoys going to church and spending time with her family.
Esmeralda Hernandez joined Carrillo Funeral Homes in 2019 and serves the role of Administrative Assistant. She is also enrolled in the Funeral Directors – On line Program at the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service. She will be graduating from The University of Texas at Arlington with her Bachelors in Psychology and Medical Humanities in the near future and her goal is to continue to help families as a Funeral Director.
Esmeralda was born in Houston and raised in Dallas. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and reading.
Lizbeth Ponce joined Carrillo Funeral Homes in 2018 in the role of Funeral Home Attendant. She is currently enrolled as a student at the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service to obtain her Associate of Applied Science degree and is part of the Pi Sigma Eta Fraternity. she will graduate September 2019.
Lizbeth is Texas born and a graduate of Birdville High School.
Angelica Castillo joined Carrillo Funeral Homes in 2019 and serves the role of Funeral Home Attendant and Greeter. She was born and raised in Fort Worth and graduated from Fort Worth Northside High School in 2016. During her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and her three dogs.
Karla Mendias joined Carrillo Funeral Homes in 2019 as a Greeter. She was born in Chihuahua, Mexico and has always enjoyed helping and assisting people. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and volunteering at her children’s school activities.
Maria M. Gonzalez joined Carrillo Funeral Homes in 2002 as Custodian Maintenance staff member for all funeral home locations. She was born and raised in Juarez, Mexico. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling back to her hometown in Mexico to be with family and spend time with her grandchildren.
